February, Friday 5, 1864 Camp Near Wood Ville Ala all of the Non Veterans of the 9th,,Iowa was moved over near the 31st Iowa to day with all of the Camp equipage that belong to the 9th,,Iowa we took the Officer Wall tents and set them up for our selves, we have a very pleasant place for a camp February, Saturday 6, 1864 In Camp Near Wood Ville Ala To day Tom Smith, David Greck Wm,,Willie & my self built a fire place in our tent in the after noon I was detail to help to dig a grave for one of Co. G. of the 9th,,Iowa, it rain last night & same in the fore noon to day and in the after noon it turn off cold, our tent is quite pleasant since we got our fire place in it
