March, Monday 14, 1864 Near Wood Ville Ala I was on Picket duty at Brigade head quarters to day, all of our mounted Inftry that was out as scouts was taken Prisoner except 3 of the 9th,,& 7 of the of the 4th,,Iowa & Capt. House three of our men wounded & one Kiled there was a number of the rebles wounded & 5 kiled. L. D. Curtis of Co. C & two of Co. K. made there escape, they was atacked [?
