May, Saturday 7, 1864 In Chicktamauga Vallie near Buzard Roost we did not take up line of march until 11 A M on account of the 20 A.C. being in our way. the dust is so bad it is most imposible to get go[od] fresh air we did. not get in to Camp untill a late hour in the night [hour in the night?] May, Sunday 8, 1864 Near Snake Gap, Ga. We Took up line of march at 7 A.M. march [11?] miles got in to camp P.M. I seen the best Country to day that I have seen sout of the Tenn river. we have Pass a number of deserted rebles Camps to day
