May, Thursday 19, 1864 Bivouac near Kingston Ga we took up line of march at 7 oclock this morning. and march to this place a distant of 5 miles. there was some heavy Skirmishing to day but I have not heard the results yet. the Plantation were we laid over last night is the best buildings yard and garden & farm I have sene in Ga. the roads are very good May, Friday 20, 1864 Bivouac near Kingston Ga we did not march to day at noon to day our Co. was ordered out on picket Soon after we got out there we were relive by a Co. from the 31st Mo so we returned to Camp I received a letter from Rosetta. J. J. and wrote one to James Brown to day. very pleasant day
