May, Monday 23, 1864 Bivouac near Boodwoodsville Ga we took up line of march at 10 oclock AM, and march 20 miles got in to Camp at 9 oclock at night we did not have any watter from the time we started untill we we got to Camp there quite a nice Creak here it was very warm marching to day May, Tuesday 24, 1864 Pioneer range of mountains Ga we march at 8 A M and march 10 miles got in to camp at 4 P.M. this country put me in mind of Arkansa and Mo. there is no watter only what there is in the wells or larger streams it has been very hot & dusty to day
