May, Wednesday 25, 1864 Bivouac near Dallas Ga we march at 7 oclock Am and march 10 miles to day got in to Camp at 3 P.m, at dusk we had to change our posision as the advance was ingaged with the enemy and had ben all the after noon we Counter march back and forth untill mid night before we halted it is the report that the enemy is a going to make a Stan here at Dallas May, Thursday 26, 1864 Bivouac near Dallas Ga we moved up on the enemy works to day our Brigade took possesion on the left of the 16th,,A.C. to day day I presume the enemy are a going to make there last stand here they have got there fortification on what is so Call the Lost mountains & of Course we have take our posision at the foot of the mountain
