June, Wednesday 8, 1864 Camped near Acworth Ga very pleasant day there is not any thing of importance in Camp to day except there is a regular chain guard all a round the Brig [as?] we drew one day raition to day, I wrote a letter to Parthenia. J. Brown. to day June, Thursday 9, 1864 Camp near Acworth Ga we have had showers of rain most all day. it is reported that Gen Hooker is falling back from his posision?] at Maryette every thing quiet in Camp to day
