June, Sunday 12, 1864 Camp on the feild of action near Big Shanty Station Ga, 5 oclock PM we did not move to day it Commenced raining at day light this morning and has rain steady all day there has ben but or no fireing to day the enamy has heavy work here at this place, our ration has run short and the most of the boys hast to go with out to day & untill to morow noon I wrote a letter to PJ Brown. June, Monday 13, 1864 Camped near Big Shanty Station Ga we were orderd to the front in the diches at 6 oclock this morning it has rain all day steady, we have very poor works at this point - there is a large mountain in front of this place at the first Slight it look very mutch like look out mountain. I had a mess of ripe dew berries to day
