June, Thursday 30, 1864 west end Kenassaw mountain Ga at 8 o'clock this morning our regt,, musterd for the months of may and June, at 2 o'clock. last night the enamy made a charge on the 4 A.C. on the right of us they was hansomly repulsed with but little loss on our side. there has ben but little or no fireing in our front to day we drew three day ration to day. we had a heavy shower of rain in the after no[on] (Vertically, at bottom right:-) to day July, Friday 1, 1864 west end Kenssaw mounta[in] very pleasant day there is not much of importance in Camp to day there is heavy fireing on boath Sides of us to day
