July, Thursday 14, 1864 East side of Chattahoochie river Ga 3, oclock P.M, we march at 4 oclock this morning and got here at 10 oclock A.M. we are at what is So Call Ross ferry about 22 miles frorm Atlanta Ga. & 14 miles from Marietta Ga. the Country is very rough, Crops looks well every thing quiet to day. there is some flying report a bout the army P.M. we cross the river at 8 oclock in eve,, we pass through Ross Ville, (Between the lines of the above:-) we march 12 miles to day it rain before we got in to Camp July, Friday 15, 1864 Near Ross Ville, East side of Chattahoochie River Ga,, we move twice to day to get in to posision we commenced to build Breast works, but we suspended it & move to another place. we had the hardest rain storm las Eve, I have sene since I have ben in service. there was a number of men kiled & wounded last night by lighting the same Clap shock the Regt,, I was out a black Berring to day we had to run the pickets (Between the lines of the above:-) Ross vill, is Situated on the west side of the Chattahoochie River 22 miles from Atllata Ga we have heavy work at this place
