July, Sunday 24, 1864 [?] East of Atlanta Our Division was ordered to distroy all the reail road in our possession between Atlanta and Decature which we done Completely I have not heard but a very guns to day the weather Clear and hot July, Monday 25, 1864 Near Decature Our brigade did not move to day our Division is building breast works by detail. I am on the detail from our Reg't. we are digging up the whole ____ South in Breast works. it has been very hot day.
