August, Wednesday 3, 1864 5 Miles West of Atlanta Ga. there has been Consider heavy fireing to day. there has been a number of Charges made on our lines, heavy Canonading in front of the 4,20, & 23, Corps. all of our Hospittles & comessary trains, moving to the rear. we had a very hard Shower of rain in the after noon August, Thursday 4, 1864 5 Miles West of Atlanta There has been greate and importance movements all day to day there has been 3 Divisions moved to the right flank of our Army, to day. we are under marching orders to be ready to move at a moment warning. Pleasant day but little or fireing
