August, Monday 29, 1864 On the West Point & Atlanta Rail Road 15 miles from Atlanta our Brigade distroyed rail Road to day it is very hot to and uncomfortable to day August, Tuesday 30, 1864 Near JonesBoughrow on the Atlanta & Macon RR we took up line of march at 9 oclock this morning and march 15 miles to day & got to this point at 10 oclock at night. our advance has had a hard Skirmish with the enamy this after noon we expect to find the enamy in force here tomorrow
