Mistake October, Wednesday 13 1864 At Home Independence I have not done anything today only visit all my old friend today. David Greek staid all night with me he went home after noon. the town of Independence has went through a great change in the past three years. Mistake October, Thursday 12 1864 On the cars between Chicago and Dubuque Iowa We started from Chicago at 10 oclock last evening and [traveled?] all night got in to Dunleigh [Ills?] at [8 oclock?] This A.M. we took the cars at Dubuque and got to Independence Iowa at 1 oclock PM it has been a hapy day to meet our friends
