Soda Cake Mrs Gratham 1 lb of flour 1/2 lb of Butter 1/2 of Sugar 1/2 lb of Currants or Seeds 3 Eggs a 1/4 of a pint of milk first to [] a tea spoonful of Carbonate of soda mixed in the [last] moment before putting into the oven Receip for Camphor ice [illegible] Dissolve together 1/2 oz of white wax one [penny?] of almond oil & 1 ounce of Camphor To Spice a round of Beef Grind and mix together 1/2 lb of white pepper & ginger 1/2 oz of mace 1/2 lb of Salt 2 ozs of Salt petre & a dozen cloves with these ingredients the beef should be crusted[rubbed?] every day & after being in pickle three weeks it should be carefully baked
