Happy seemed every one to have his expectations gratified, for the swallows flitting about our Ship for many previous hours had awakened a consciousness that 'terra firma" was not far off. Those pretty swallows were a more interesting sight to us than Sea Gulls, Divers or Schools of Porpoises. They seemed to speak of land and of home. On the 30th of May, we were off 'Tuskar Light' On the morning of the 21st we passed Barsay Island, and in the evening Holyhead.
