Variety Cake. 1 1/2 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of milk, 2 cups of flour, 4 eggs, 1 teaspoonful Cream of Tartar, 1/2 teaspoonful of soda. To 1/3 of the mixture add 1/2 teaspoonful of cloves & 1 of cinnamon, 1/2 cup of chopped raisins & a little nutmeg. Bake in 3 pans and put to-gether with frosting. I send this just as I copied it from a paper. I take 1 1/2 measures - which make a better sized cake. E.B.B.
