Saving...
Soap - Soft To one pound can of Lye add three gallons of water. Boil the Lye until it is all dissolved. Then add three pounds of grease the cleaner the better...to the Lye and set it boiling. It usually becomes soap after boiling from one to four hours. Let it boil slowly so that it will not boil over. If it boils down before it becomes soap add sufficient water to keep about the same in the kettle until it becomes soap. Then add nine gallons (9 gal.) of water and stir well together. When done it will be beautiful white soap if the grease is clean.
