Friday January 22nd 1875 I rode to school this morning with Ira and was fortunate enough to get a ride home in the evening. As soon as I got home I dressed to go to the Universalist social in the evening, And as soon as we had supper Jen and Vene got ready. Manford Shorts] and his sister came over here and we all went together It was a beautiful moon-light night, and I had a splendid time. I danced every set from eight oclock till twelve. There was a good many of my acquaintances there. I begin to feel quite at home in Delavan society. Uncle Albert McCollister went home this morning. I had a letter from Mother in the evening. Ira brought it up to the hall to me. It seems that the story of Owens misconduct has reached there. And I will be under the necessity of writing to her all I have learned about the matter. Saturday January 23rd 1875 I sewed a little in the morning and visited with Vene. I dressed before dinner and after dinner Aunty and Vene were going down town and
