35 attempt to go to school. Laura and I did the ironing in the forenoon and after dinner I made my apron embroidered with red, and sewed some in the afternoon and evening. It continued to storm all the evening. Friday March 19th 1875. I went to school and came back again today on the sleigh. In the evening it snowed again. Will, Ira and Manford Shorts went down town a foot to attend a festival. We had a real quiet time here at home. I finished Mrs Beechers apron. What a stormy week this has been there has not been a moderately pleasant day since last Sunday. Saturday March 20th 1875. I sewed a little in the morning and made an entire change of clothes and got ready to go down town before dinner. Early in the afternoon Will went down in the sleigh. Laura and I went too. I did some shopping, got me another pair of new shoes, some thread and trimming for aprons. I went down to Etts and left my package. Then from there over to Mrs Works for my new dress she had it done and I put it on. I was well pleased with the way it fit and looked. it is very
