63 Wednesday May 26th 1875. I felt terribly tired today. After breakfast I wrote a letter to Laura and one to "My mystery." Then I went down town. After I got to the store I wrote a letter to Mother. Charlie gave me a handsome pair of driving gloves. He went up to dinner as I went to the house. In the afternoon I called on Mrs Gillett and just after supper I went over to Frankie Winters where I spent a couple of hours very pleasantly. Brother came after me. As soon as we got to the house he went on down to the store It stormed some this afternoon. Thursday May 27th 1875. When Charlie went to the store this morning I went with him. We found a letter there from Mother saying they were well. But Mrs Hart was dead. I felt very anxious to go on home. But Charlie tried to persuade me to stay longer. When I got back to Mrs Gilletts I had a call from Miss Lewis. We persuaded Charlie to let me come home. I started from Burlington at half past two. I got to West Liberty at seven oclock. Waited there two
