139 Wednesday December 22nd 1875 I ironed a little more this morning after I got the work done up. Aunt Sarah was here for dinner and Dick went home. Mother went over to town with her. I hemmed the napkins in the afternoon. In the evening I seeded raisins, practiced a little and sewed some. I had a note from Hatt today and wrote her one. Thursday December 23rd 1875. Another beautiful day. I washed some this forenoon. After dinner I scrubbed the porch and brought the clothes in to iron. I made two fruit-cakes this afternoon, and finished up all the ironing. After I got the evening work done I played a few games of cards with Mr Bently. Friday December 24th 1875. It was a misty day thawing all the time making the mud very bad. It was late when we got up so we were all day fussing around at the work. We wanted to send Lee to the valley for Hatt but Father thought it too bad. We were all disappointed. I sewed a little in the evening and read some. It got dark early tonight, Sure enough. Christmas Eve/75
