Thursday August 15th 1935 I went to The Red meeting at Dorothy Wallace with Mrs Newcomb. Such a pleasant meeting and I was made happy by being voted into the group. Louise Hughes was buried this afternoon and it did not seem possible for us to go. Evening here a letter from Grace Taylor said her sister Emma died July 16 1935 Friday August 16th 1935 Mrs Gay called from the shop early to tell me work had come that Will Rogers & Wiley Post had been killed in an airplane up in Alaska last evening. I was here all day. Ida Anderson & Mary came for a call in PM. Later Rob took me over to Byingtons where The Whetstones & Jellisons were to have supper and spend the evening. a warn day. Saturday August 17th 1935 I was here all day. I did some sewing and other work. Slept awhile in PM. Mrs Gay at the shop. here in the evening. Ott gave me a deposit slip for $250,00 last night, a settlement with W F Main for a note of $700.00 Mrs Meadur has owed for years.
