Friday December 27th 1935 Still cold. Rob & Cora went to Davenport. Hattie away a little while early in PM. The Byington people came for Birdie about 4:30. William & Mary here in evening. Mrs Gay sent my mail more than a dozen of them. Saturday December 28th 1935 I read a book part of the day. Hattie & Cora away part of the afternoon to make a couple of calls. I had such a nice letter from Nellie. I feel quite well today. Sunday December 29th 1935 Hattie went to S S & Church. Mr Ensign was here for dinner and came up to see me. I wrote to Grace McCallister in PM and Jesse Henderson in the evening. I feel very good. Monday December 30th 1935 I did not get up very early. The girls down town most of the AM. Went by taxi. I read papers, a book and listened to radio. Tuesday December 31st 1935 Hattie home all day. Rob & Cora to Cedar Rapids in afternoon. Dr Ned out to see me in PM. no change in medicine. I do hope I will have less of sickness the next year. Gifts for Christmas 1935 LeGrand & Alberta bed jacket. The Byingtons, stationary, bath powder & toilet water. Hattie, smelling salts. Rob stationary (engraved), Cora, California fruit. Alice two handkerchiefs. Blanche a handkerchief. Mollie & Floyd, roses. Mrs Newcomb, jelly. I gave a dollar to Buddy, Ott Seiberty & Alice at Whetstones.
