12 Sunday January 23rd 1876. The forenoon went just as they always do without my accomplishing any thing but house work. We had dinner at two oclock and then started Hatt and Lee to the valley. I wrote to Charlie and to Will Reed in the afternoon and read some in the evening. Weather cold. Monday January 24th 1876. I did the work all up good this morning and practiced some besides changing my dress and getting ready to go down town after dinner. I made some calls and had a real jolly time It was nearly supper time when I got home I saw Mary Hart today and she intends getting up a party at Sallies for Friday night I only hope she will. In the evening Rob and I went down to Sperrys to a reception given in honor of Harry and his bride We met many of the old neighbors and had such a very pleasant time. A nice day and evening. I hope this nice weather will continue all the week.
