21. Saturday February 12th 1876. Oh how I did feel this morning when I got up. I poked around and got the work done up and just I was finishing Hattie and Emma Moon came. I got ready and went to town to do some errands for Hatt. I was nearly tired to death. The girls started back to the valley after dinner and I put most of the afternoon on the sofa. As soon as we got the evening work done up I went to bed. Sunday February 13th 1876. I am still sick have a fearful cough. I helped do up the work, and wrote a letter to Lou Reeves before dinner. Just as we got through washing the dishes, Mr Chase came very unexpectedly. I had a pleasant hour's visit with him. Went down as far as the steps with him when he went home. In the evening I wrote some to Charlie and helped fix the supper. I went to bed pretty early. It was some-what colder this evening a prospect of a freeze.
