31 Wednesday March 15th 1876. It was a chilly disagreeable morning. I tore up more carpet rags and ironed some. As soon as we could after dinner Mother and I got ready to go over to Robinsons. We found Lizzie had gone so we came back and spent the afternoon and took supper at Adkins. It was a rainy afternoon. I was so tired when I got home that I was not able to do any-thing in the evening. Went to bed early. Thursday March 16th 1876. Did not do much of any thing this forenoon When Rob came he brought me a letter from Charlie saying that Bird intended starting today and if she did he would telegraph. I got ready in the afternoon and went to town, I found no displatch and went down to McCalls to supper. I went to the Pinney house at half past seven and stayed till train time I rode over to the train But Bird did not come. Came back to Winnies where our young folk were. I do think it is the worst time I ever was out snowed and blowed all day. I was nearly sick when I got home.
