41 Tuesday April 11th 1876. As soon as the work was done up this morning I sat down to fix my old brown dress skirt. I worked on it till noon. As soon as I got up from my dinner I walked to town for a few notions I wanted I was not gone but an hour. I sewed all the afternoon and evening. Wednesday April 12th 1876. It stormed last night and was still raining this morning. I worked till noon to finish my skirt I am very well satisfied with it. In the afternoon I changed my dark calico skirt some, got that all done and my dress changed before supper. In the evening we had a splendid game of whist. But Mr Bently and Hatt beat Rob and I in spite of all we could do. It was late when we finished playing. We had a new boarder come today A Mr Hersey. Thursday April 13th 1876. It is still raining. How very discouraging for the poor boys who plod to school through the mud. I sat down to work up a few carpet
