47 all night. I went to town after supper for meat. I met Mr Hersey and he walked home with me. After I came home Rob and I sat out on the porch a long time talking up a party we mean to have the last of the week. I was very tired tonight and we girls went to bed early. Tuesday April 25th 1876. It took most of the forenoon to do the work as I was baking bread. What spare time I had I worked on my brown dress I had made in Illinois I am fixing it over. Mother did not get home till just night. She says Grand-pa is some-what better. We heard sad news tonight two children of Prof Parker were drowned in the river this afternoon. Charlies birthday. had a letter from Will. Wednesday April 26th I sewed nearly all day. After supper Hatt and I went to town in the buggy I got stuff for Otto a couple of shirts. It was night when we got home. We played whist at night. I thought Mr Hersey and myself rather ahead. It was nearly
