58. Wednesday May 24th 1876. We ironed this morning and I put up the curtains in the dining room In the afternoon we got the carpet out of the parlor and down in the sitting room. Our new furniture came home this afternoon. Uncle Jacob and Uncle Jim took supper here Uncle Jacob was going home tonight We worked trying to put down the parlor carpet but did not get it right. Thursday May 25th 1876. Mother and I went to town this morning to get a great lot of stuff We brought home a new looking glass. In the afternoon we finished up the house-cleaning Went to bed early. Friday May 26th 1876. Hatt and I spent the whole forenoon in town. In the afternoon I trimmed me a hat and did some mending In the eve I went to the festival with Rob. I enjoyed it very much indeed.
