77 and took a look at the best part of the town. We then came back on the east side and drove out to Witters We spent an hour very pleasantly out there. It was after ten oclock when we got home. This morning Mrs Witter gave me eighteen little white chickens to take home with us. Friday July 7th 1876. We girls got our trunk ready to go home this morning and then went down town to get an express waggon. Soon after we came home Lizzie had dinner for us and just before noon, the man came for us. We started from Des Moines at one oclock and had a safe journey home. My chickens wasent a bit of trouble. Lee was over to the depot and they had supper ready when we got home. Rob got home yesterday and we talked awhile before going to bed. I feel jolly good after my trip and thankful to my friends for their entertainment.
