80 Wednesday July 12th 1876. Mother and Lou went to town this morning and Hatt and I picked currants for jelly and seeded cherries that Ott and Lee picked from our trees. Mother brought a half bushel from town and we put up thirteen quarts besides making 18 cups of jelly. I had a letter from Will Reed. Weather very warm. Thursday July 13th 1876. Mother went to town for more cherries but could not get them. As soon as she came home her and Father went for more raspberries. I baked cake, cookies and got the dinner while she was gone She put up a few raspberries and currants mixed. And we three girls got ready and went over to Winnies to spend the afternoon. Stayed over to the fire-works in the evening, and Jim and Winnie brought us home. I had a kind letter from Owen this afternoon. Weather warm.
