90 Sunday August 6th 1876. Mother and Rob went to the valley today I did the work and wrote up my diary. In the afternoon I wrote a letter to Lizzie Lindley and to Lena Rodenhouser. Just before dark I took a walk with Lou and Jim Folsom over to Billingsleys. When we came home Charlie McCall was here I helped fix lunch and put away the milk then we girls went to bed. Monday August 7th 1876. We washed this forenoon and Lou started to Richmond soon after dinner. I did not want her to go at all and did not believe she would till the last minute. About the middle of the afternoon we found "Old dog dead under the bush and buried him under the apple tree in the garden. We all felt very bad. Rob and Hatt went to town in the buggy and Rob and I on horse-back just before night. Will and Arthur began work on the bedroom. Rather an eventful day.
