96. Saturday August 26th 1876. We did a big ironing this forenoon and made a carpet for Mothers room in the afternoon. I was very tired but helped do the milking as it was late when the boys came home. Weather cooler the past two days. Sunday August 27th 1876. Mother and Father went to Aunt Walkers today I spent part of the afternoon at Robinsons The folks got home just as I did and Hatt and Jim went riding with Jim, got lunch for the rest of us and I talked with Jim while the girls ate their lunch for they were not at home when we ate. Wrote to Al. Monday August 28th 1876. Mother went down town this morning to get the new carpet and Hatt and I got the sitting room ready to move the cook-stove in and took up the dining room carpet. In the afternoon we sewed some carpet and washed the dining room carpet. The masons put the first coat of plaster on the two rooms.
