115 Thursday October 19th 1876. I helped do the house-work in the morning and helped Mother work on Fathers pants. In the afternoon I baked the bread and a cake and sewed the stockings I cut last night. I worked at my chainstitching all the evening. Friday October 20th 1876. Some-how it took all the forenoon to do the work. As soon as we ate dinner Rob and I went to town in the waggon to bring home Mothers ward-robe. It rained some all the time we were gone It was a very disagreeable trip. When we came home I cleaned Mothers room all up and put away a trunk full of summer clothes. I worked on my skirt all the evening. A gloomy night. Saturday October 21st 1876. Just as we had dinner ready today Uncle Jacob and Sam Ewers came, they are here to attend Aunt Emmas law suit. Mother went to the court-house in the afternoon, and we girls did the work. I did some mending at night.
