228 Sunday September 2nd 1877. It was a beautiful day. I helped do up the work in the morning and then sat down and wrote a long letter to Lizzie. We had a real good dinner and Aunty and Eugene were over to help eat it. I took a walk down the river in the afternoon. When I came home some of the girls walked up with me and we found Winnie here. I helped do up the work in the evening and wrote a long letter to Jennie. Monday September 3rd 1877. I got up very early this morning and a little after eight oclock had the washing all out. Rob and I then rode over town and selected a lot of furniture. I got cotton for two comforts and a bed. We girls made the bed in the and then I did the ironing while Hatt cleaned one floor up stairs. The boys did not get in from the field till late. Liz and Henry Mygatt were over here to see the new house after supper.
