230 in the afternoon. I made three splashers and ironed. Mother went to town just before supper to get Lee a suit of clothes I had a letter from Pete this evening that Lee had been carrying around all day. It was late when we got the evening work done so all went to bed early. The men put the first coat of paint on the out side of the house. Saturday September 8th 1877. I helped do up the work this morning and finished putting up the tomatoes. All the folks but Hatt and I went over to see Barnums show. We had some of the valley boys here for dinner. Mother spiced peaches in the afternoon And we girls sewed carpet. At five oclock Rob and I went to town, got paper for the kitchen and looked at more furniture, it was supper time when we got home. We finished the carpet in the evening We made two today alike for Robs room and the parlor bed-room. We have heard from Bently, Pottle and Cattrell this week they are all coming back. I had a letter from Mrs Campbell today.
