Wednesday April 22- 1931 I had letters from Winnie and Alice Condon. Hattie came with some sewing to do on my machine and was here till 5-oclock. I wrote Winnie in the evening and read in a book. Thursday April 23 - 1931 Letter from Laura and Mary Taylor of Los Angeles I went to Cedar Rapids for the day with The Swishers and Whetstones. I rode in Helens car. We had such a nice time. Wrote LeGrand in forenoon Ott at Judge Wades funeral in AM. Then went to Des Moines. Friday April 24- 1931 I did some cooking and ironing. Wrote Emma Herriott Mary took me over there for part of the afternoon I wrote Laura and read in the evening Saturday April 25- 1931 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon sewed some and rested in PM. It rained part of the day. Letters from Mrs Cooper at Piketon. home all day Sunday April 26- 1931 Ott took me to church and home with him to dinner Later rode down to Stevens with Rob & Hattie. When I got back wrote Mabel McDougall Grace McCallister & Ida Monday April 27- 1931 A letter from Miss Owens in Boise tells that Mattie Fletcher died last Wednesday and Thursday was taken at St. Anthony for burial I rested in afternoon. I went to a supper at The Legion Bld. with Ott & Hattie in evening
