Wednesday July 15- 1931 The worst nights rest I have had all summer I did very little work. Letter from Laura. with one from Grace McCallister enclosed. They are bad of down there. The girls cant come out for awhile I wrote to them. Spent evening at Byingtons. Thursday July 16- 1931 Last night frightfully hot.The Whetstones came down town this AM and I went home with them We tried to sleep in PM. Had a nice ride after with Rob. Buddy in the hospital for tonsil operation Friday 17- July 1931 We stayed about the house most of the day a shower in the afternoon. After supper a nice ride and we stopped to see Buddy who was home now. The Whetstones to the funeral of Rose [Mather] in AM. Saturday July 18- 1931 I came down town with the girls. Rose back to do the work. I wrote Birdie Winnie & Grace McCallister before noon. Rested in PM. After supper The Whetstones came for me. A short ride and evening on the porch Sunday July 19- 1931 It was a frightful hot morning. But Rob took Hattie & me to S S. Ott was there for church Rob had to go back to the store in afternoon. We rested awhile. Late in the afternoon a rain and it turned cooler. We sat on the porch. read awhile. & listened to radio. William & Mary came for a short call. Mr Ensign over to phone
