Friday January 1st 1932 A special letter from Laura this morning full of the good time they were having. Ott here in the forenoon. I wrote Laura & Edith William came for my mail. I wrote some in this book and read in a book Paid Mrs Gay $20.00 on January rent. It is 60 years today since I began to keep a diary. What changes! Saturday January 2- 1932. I do not feel quite so well today. Hattie was here all afternoon doing some sewing on my machine Letters from Winnie & Birdie Hatten. Went to bed early. Sunday January 3- 1932. I felt much better today. Went home with Ott for dinner but came right back. I put in part of afternoon with my old diarys looking up some dates. We furnished the flowers at the church today in Mothers memory. Hattie & Ott took some to Fannies grave, to Aunt Emma to me and they each kept a few. I wrote Winnie in the evening. Later Mrs Gay and Aunt Anna up for a visit Cold today. Monday January 4- 1932. I slept well. But dont feel as well as yesterday. Letter from Lois Simpson and delayed cad from Paul Whetstone. I did some work about the house in AM. Wrote Mary Taylor in afternoon. [Onie] Spencer came for a visit. Mr Lemon called. Ott & Hattie here later. They had called at Koontz. Mrs Koontz died suddenly last night. I felt so much pain late in the evening.
