114 Monday August 8- 1932. Edith did a big washing Laura busy about the house. I wrote Hattie and read. slept in afternoon Later we drove to a picnic place where we had a fine supper with The Wood & Orendorf families It was bed-time when we got home. such a good time Tuesday August 9- 1932. a letter from Hattie today that tells they went after Birdie Friday. Cora is in Minneapolis. Carrie Anderson very ill. I wrote LeGrand. Mr Parsons here for dinner. Edith ironed. The Fosters here in the evening Wednesday August 10- 1932. I spent the forenoon with Lizzie Duncan. Laura took me over and came for me. Very warm. letter from Ida Rested in P M. Later went to Dr Fochlers for supper. Mrs Smale near there. brought her home with us. Thursday August 11- 1932. It rained most of the night, and still doing so when we left for Pawnee at 8.30. Reached there at 12.15 Mrs Smale was to stay there for the week end It was still raining when we started home. We had such a fine dinner and visit. All went to bed early letters from Mrs Rowe, Emma Herriott & card from Cora Friday August 12- 1932. A rainy day. Letter from Hattie with sad word about Carrie Andersons ill-ness. Wrote Ida Mabel Mason and Kate Rowe card to Hattie. Slept awhile. Late in PM Laura and I drove up town. rained most of the day
