July 29th 1923 I sewed some on Hatties rug in AM. Slept awhile after dinner. I do not feel well. Mary here late in the afternoon. Ott in Cedar Rapids. I read on the porch and talked to The Gays till bed-time. Tuesday July 30th 1929 I had a telegram from Jesse Henderson that her Mother passed away this morning. Another cousin gone. Mary came and took me to Dr Smith. Cousin Jen in the evening. Ediths birthday born 1881 Wednesday July 31st 1929 A very warm day. I read some in the forenoon. I feel so wretched. Hattie here in afternoon. I sewed a bity on her rug. I sat on the porch in the evening. Thursday August 1st 1929 It turned cooler last night. I feel better. Wrote Jesse Henderson. A letter from Ida, wrote to her and Lydia. Hattie phoned me that Ida Holson Bailey was dead and would be brought here for burial. Ott went to Des Moines early. Mary & Buddy took me out to supper and I went home with them. William & Mary brought me home. He brought Ott from Des Moines. Friday August 2nd 1929 A hard rai8n early this morning. More later in the day. Carrie Thomas called and some Elder Daughters had a committee meeting in PM. The Byington came for me to go up to Hatties with them. Read after I got home. The Byingtons met Alliene Johnstone at midnight.
