Sunday October 27th 1929 It rained all day. I read some and slept in the PM. Mrs Mason called later. The family all here in evening. I did my packing after supper. Monday October 28th 1929 I had my breakfast and went to the station for the 8.25 train. I came to Kansas City on local train, got in sleeper there at 10.45. a rainy day. Tuesday October 29th 1929 Reached Des Moines at 7 oclock. Went directly to The brown. Tried to find Corrie Wilson on East Walnut St but did not succeed. I spent afternoon and till late bedtime with The Williams Girls. I had to taxi both ways. It rained so much. Wrote Ott Seibert & LeGrand. Wednesday October 30th 1929 Wrote Lydia, packed up and checked out at The Brown. Reached home at 2.45. Rob met me. Later Hattie & Cora came to take me home with them. Rob brought me home after supper. I unpacked my things, talked to Mrs Gay awhile and wrote to Ann Henslee. There was a letter here telling of her son Charlies death. Thursday October 31st 1929 Was busy about the rooms in AM. Wrote Winnie. I found letters here from her as well as Edith Whetstone and Agnes King. Mary came in the PM to take me to Hatties to a church meeting. I went home with Mary to stay all night. I had a great visit with Ott.
