Saturday March 29th 1930 A beautiful forenoon. I walked down to Andersons to call. Then to see another Mrs Cooper. Both places had a nice visit. Got back for dinner. Wrote Alice Condon and Cousin Jen. left there at 3.50. I found Matties Aunt here to spend the evening. I am so glad I stayed to go to Piketon. I enjoyed it so much. Sunday March 30th 1930 I put in part of the forenoon with my packing. John took me to the afternoon train. I sent a letter to Hattie with my check for baggage in it. Made the change of stations in Cincinnati before dark. Got in sleeper for Chicago at 9.30. Monday March 31st 1930 I slept most of the night. By 7.30 was out at Winnies. We went over on Madison St in the afternoon. I wrote Laura & Hattie. I had a letter from her telling that Ann Henslee was in Iowa City. Evening at home. Tuesday April 1st 1930 We went down town in AM and to see "The Vagabond King." After lunch into stores. Letter from Maurice Culbertson & one from Lou Simpson telling her neice had died. Wrote to her, Mattie Stitt & Mrs Gay to send checks. Wednesday April 2nd 1930 We were at home all day. I read some and took a sleep in the afternoon. The snow is melting away. Visited with Winnie in the evening.
