Wednesday July 16th 1930 I did ironing and went to Byingtons with The Whetstones. Mary brought me home. Had a Miss Stemins from Carthage Mo. call. I read in the evening. Thursday July 17th 1930 At home all day. I wrote Emma Herriott and Laura in AM. A letter from Laura reports Lydia much worse. Laura Mahana called in PM. I slept awhile and wrote Winnie & Birdie. Late in evening Jeff and Julia called with McCollisters from Missouri. Friday July 18th 1930 Julia Mc--- sent me some cake by Mary Elizabeth. I wrote LeGrand. I slept in PM. Later Ott was here a little while. Mary had been to Cedar Rapids to take Hattie and Lula & Alliene. I took those two over to the Legion for supper. They went to call at Will Murphys. Then came back here. Hattie and Cora for them. very hot. Saturday July 19th 1930 Letter from Emma Herriott. Bro Ott took me to The Dr after dinner and brought me back. I rested some. After supper Mrs Gortner took me to Byingtons. We sat in the yard till bed time. William and Mary brought me home. Letter from Ida. Lula and Alliene left this afternoon Sunday July 20th 1930 The heat some-thing awful. I could not attempt church. Rob took me up there about ten oclock. I slept awhile in PM. After supper Hattie, Cora and I sat on the porch till bed time. They brought me home. We stopped at No 3 for a cool drink.
