Monday September 8th 1930 This is Hatties 50th wedding day. I put away my jelly and cleaned cup boards. Wrote on Elder Daughters books and letter to Hattie. Rested in PM. Wrote LeGrand took the letter to mail after supper. When on the Bus went to Andersons for evening. Tuesday September 9th 1930 Did some washing in AM. Wrote in Elder Daughters books. Sewed and rested in PM. Rob took me a ride in his new car after supper and I spent the evening at Whetstones. Mrs Gay tells me she has another grandchild. Wednesday September 10th 1930 I wrote a letter to Emma Herriott. Had one from Alice Carden. Wrote in E.D. books again in AM. In afternoon rode to Washington with The Byingtons. Thursday September 11th 1930 I wrote Ida. Had letter from Mrs Doyle wrote to her. Did some washing and other work about the home in AM. Ott came for me at 12.30 to go to The Old Settlers picnic. he was the speaker. Very warm. Friday September 12th 1930 Still very warm. I wrote Winnie and some more Elder Daughters book. Rob & Cora went to Des Moines. wrote Laura. Saturday September 13th 1930 Gave the house good cleaning. letters from Emma Herriott, Mattie Stitt (wrote her), & Hattie. Mary took me up town in PM. Was at Dr Smiths office. Did errand, home by Bus. Sat on the porch in evening. Very warm.
