Wednesday January 5th 1927 I got ready to go back to Chicago. The girls took me to the station Rob came down before I left and put me on the train a comfortable trip. Out to Winnies by taxi Found mail here. I wrote Ott Seibert in evening This date was Mothers birthday. A year ago today had one nose operation Thursday January 6th 1927 We were home all day. Wrote Mattie & Birdie. Read some Winnie still feels badly with her cold Weather fine Friday January 7th 1927 I had a long letter from Lydia. She tells me Lizzie Duncan is very sick I read in a book most of the time and wrote Lydia Weather still nice Saturday January 8th 1927 I talked to Emma Davis in forenoon. Wrote to Mattie Stitt I went out to McCalls in the afternoon Wrote Hattie and read in the evening Sunday January 9th 1927 It snowed most of the day I wrote Robert Patten who was to reach Chicago today Read some. Dick Given was here for supper. I took a nap in the afternoon Monday January 10th 1927 I had letters from Mary Byington Mrs Falk, Birdie and Sister Ida. She was in Chicago last Saturday I wrote her in the AM. Read most of the afternoon Later letters from Hattie and Lydia I wrote notes to Will Lovegood and William Byington he is at Bloomington Ill. Read all evening
