Monday January 17th 1927 I still feel wretched. Winnie did her washing and was up to Fred Givens in afternoon I had a letter from Hattie and wrote her. Read in evening Tuesday January 18th 1927 I read some in AM and after early dinner we went to Weibolds to trade. I got something for the baby, a new bag for myself and a diary book I mailed a letter to LeGrand. I found letters here from Hattie and Edith I wrote Fannie after supper Wednesday January 19th 1927 I did some washing for myself. a card from Lydia and note from Emma Davis Winnie had company for the day. A letter from Ida in the PM spoke of Harry being not well. I wrote her and to Hattie Lydia & Emma Davis. Snow [thawing?] two days Thursday January 20th 1927 I had a letter from Elizabeth McCollister. I strung beads in the forenoon. Winnie did ironing Soon after dinner went out to Austin to a church meeting. Wrote Warren McCall & read some in evening Friday January 21st 1927 It was a dark ugly day but I went out to the Woolfs. Down to the city by car and out north on the Bus. A delightful days visit. Stopped at Fields on the way home. Letter from Hattie and one from Bess Eavens that told of Mr Jenckens death in Baltimore three months ago. I feel very sorry. I liked him very much The Lovegoods called.
