Sunday April 17th 1927 It was a regular summer day. Lena & Edith went to sunrise prayer meeting. Laura, Lena and I walked to church. Later Laura & Edith walked to cemetery at 3.30. The taxi came to take all but Edith to Vesper services and we stayed at Clarkes for supper. I was at Duncans for a call. Monday April 18th 1927 There was a hard rain early in forenoon. I was busy in my own room in AM. Wrote to Ott, Winnie, and Ida. Went to station with mail. Evening at home. Tuesday April 19th 1927 It was raining early this morning and soon after dinner was a hard storm. I sewed some today. Lydia went to vote and up town for hair cut. In the afternoon the men came for the hard coal stove. They will never use it again. Mrs Hall called. I wrote Tishie. Evening home. Wednesday April 20th 1927 Very much cooler today. I wrote to Fannie & Mattie Fletcher and took the letters to The Station. I had a letter from Fannie and one from Ott with draft for $50.00. Thursday April 21st 1927 It rained all of last night. Lydia and I were invited to Jennie Culbertsons for the day. We went in a taxi. Lizzie Duncan was there and we had a pleasant visit. Mr Armstrong took Lydia home first. I had a letter from Winnie. It had turned very cold for the time of year. Wrote Ida. I see in "The Press" that Mrs Swisher dies yesterday afternoon.
