Wednesday August 10th 1927 I wrote Hattie and Joe Woolf before breakfast. I finished my rug at two oclock. We went over to Mrs Halls for the late afternoon. As soon as we got home Carl Duncan came to take me over to see Lizzie. The Fochlers and Lou Thomas here when I got back. Thursday August 11th 1927 I wrapped my rug to send home and had a taxi take me up town. The girls had The Halls and the Allens here for dinner. Other callers in PM. Friday August 12th 1927 I did my packing and left for Peoria at 9.15. went up town there for dinner and bought shoes. Reached Burlington at 6.25. Birdie met me. She spent evening with me at Burlington Hotel. Saturday August 13th 1927 It was raining in AM. After breakfast I went into the bank to see Birdie. Then wrote Winnie & Lydia. The Grimes & Fornery girls here in PM and Birdie spent the evening with me. A sultry unpleasant day. Sunday August 14th 1927 Had late breakfast. Birdie came down before noon. We did not have our dinners when Cal Eggleston and The Sickles came to take us to ride. We took some sandwiches to eat on the way. A nice ride. It was supper time when we got back. I went up to see where Birdie stayed and came back to the hotel alone. I read the paper. Talked to Hattie. Then to bed.
